Using old boiler flue in the garden

I also have kept a similar length of plastic pipe, two inches in diameter, and several lengths of clear, bendable plastic pipe, about half an inch in diameter. I hate to see this chucked in the bin!

Whats your weather like May 2024

Thunder, very loud at the moment, and raining, but feels quite warm with 11C. Will be up to 15C, and rain continues all day. Good for the new plants that I had planted on Monday.

The Camera In My Pocket 2023/24

As I thought about it, the old Ford 1923 model T would look more natural if it were not in colour. And, I sure would not want to be the person who had to wash the windows in that house!

Isn’t it odd how songs are our memories of events in the past, perhaps unrequited love or pain. Times we remember, ages gone by where the songs bring it all back!

Thank you, definitely sounds like something different to do, so I will look into growing grass in a seed tray.

Bare root roses, what should I expect

Make sure you water them well while they are still young. They will stay quite small this year, depends a bit on the variety, be bigger next year and look like proper roses bushes the year after....

    Planting in the rain

If the perennials are happy in their pots then wait a bit until it is easier for you. I would dig some compost into the clay when you plant, then mulch.

    Temperature for tomatoes under cover?

Thanks If and when we move house, I hope I remember that method if I have a south facing window to spare. Just shows that there’s always more than one way with veg growing.
