    It could well be building a second nest for one reason or another. Robins start nesting early here and I’ve known a pair of robins to raise two consecutive broods in one season in different nests.

    Thank you @Goldenlily26 We noted the leaf curl on the tree, and would certainly prefer something more productive. It would probably be a pear tree. I don't like pears, but my wife does.
