Hello though there from another South Norfolkee! It seems we have quite a few people from this fine county now.

Is this your plant @Victoria ? Mine lost all its leaves in the winter although it doesn't usually do that. It's starting to flower now. Maybe the leaves will come later.

I grew these for years but could never get them to flower after the first year.

Around here, apart from the two mentioned, there is an abundance of a white flowered plant that hangs down nicely over the walls. No idea what it is, but sure others here will know.

Sempervivums are a good call for the conditions you will have; minimal rootspace, dry, quite hot when the sun is on it and quickly getting cold when the sun moves off it. Sedums are another possibility as are saxifrages, some campanulas and aubretias. Some of these will hang over the edge and...

The proximity of the kitchen will be a big factor, so that has to be considered. Nothing will make much if a difference, in plant terms, if you're really close.

@Kitty52 - I think one of your stubborn ones is a new tuber when referring back to your original post so that’s disappointing. Any pictures? As @pete says, if the crown/collar has been removed, they won’t sprout again. I would at least expect the new tuber to be ok unless it was a poorly...

I agree too - if you get seedlings at all, they're easy to move. Just pot them up in a gritty mix and keep them somewhere that they won't dry out, or the opposite. If they're big enough, you might be able to replant right away if your conditions are favourable.

It also depneds on what the plant is, as well as your growing conditions. They often don't need those bags at all. You have to be vigilant with them though, if you use bags, and check regularly. Some will strike quickly and some won't.
