I must admit I didn’t like Chelsea when I went years ago but I don’t like crowds and I loathe London. I do however enjoy watching it on TV such a beautiful event. I love seeing what colours and plants are fashionable.

Apparently they sometimes eat carrion in the wild but this slug was definitely alive! Obviously nobody told Graham and the slug was eating his lettuce so paid the price. I wish I had filmed it because it’s pretty unbelievable. Graham is very small but so was the slug, about 3cms and very pale cream.

There are lots of plants that do well in pots but in my experience climbers are the most difficult. Sorry! As others have said low maintenance doesn’t really go with growing in containers. The bigger the pot the better but be prepared to water and feed etc.

They can be moved but also seem to dislike root disturbance so if you are doing so take as big a lump of earth and root at the same time as you practically can. I have moved some with a fairly healthy piece of root still attached and they have just refused to settle in their new spot. Happy...

Sorry @latimer - I left just after I posted that last comment I posted! @Butterfly6 has answered it though. You can really suit yourself as to how far away you tuck in liner though. If you had enough spare, you can do the bog garden sort of idea too, but you can always do that separately anyway...

I think there's a misunderstanding about buddleias. The cultivated ones aren't like the wild one that seeds into every crack and spare site all over any kind of ground. They're much better behaved - or they certainly are here. I've often taken cuttings of ones I like, and given them to my sister...

I did wonder how you had them so far on @David K - I just assumed you were growing in very protected conditions.

We had those discussions in the GW forum how awful Monty Don's garden looks when he cramps the plants into any of his overcrowded not good looking beds. I learned from one of the episodes from Adam Frost when he planted a shady part in his garden and there were tiny shrubs/plants with 1 meter...

I think the caterpillars that were on mine have probably gone onto phase two, ie. chrysalis or what ever they are called, as the damage has stopped and new growth is showing.

That's what Dovefromabove put up earlier in the thread and what I copied and pasted from.That's putting it up there with Japanese Knotweed. Crazy.

The new leaves of some shrubs and trees are often reddish … especially if the blossom is also a deep red. They’ll turn green as they mature … you probably just didn’t notice it last year.We can’t see the base of the tree … just make sure there’s not too many plants around the base in the roof...

Have 2 jack russels next door as well as a dog of my own, this rabbit doesn't seem to care, fully enclosed garden, loads of plants and it's own pond, what's not to like. Might have to look at relocation as everything is getting destroyed apart from the two you mentioned plus a few others.
