I'm not against spraying, but only as a last resort, I do use copper spray on Toms late in the season if I get blight, but cant say its something I want to do, but its often that or just bin everything for another year. I use sprays on not edibles quite often but try to keep it to a minimum.

I have some planting I need to do in the garden, but every time the sun comes out by the time I have finished my row of knitting it has clouded over again.

Typical Tuesday ‘ Volunteering Day at our Local Walled Garden at our Local Hospital’ and it’s been rain rain, rain not cold , loads of jobs to do as we have ‘ Have a grow ‘ day on sat 1st June so please please can we have a Dry day. Especially we are expecting quite a few children .

It’s a cleaning the kitchen kind of day. I have made a wholemeal banana bread, as I had some over ripe bananas. I added some peanut butter choc chips for sweetness. Warm with a bit of butter is delightful! Any leftovers (OH not a big fan so should be something left) I will take to work...

This lovely Acer Enkan caught my eye yesterday and had to have it, such an interesting and very distinctive elongated and deeply lobed leaves and a lovely maroon colour. It was introduced in 1991 but hadn't seen it before. Looking forward to growing it on.

@Sheps we have lots of those beetles on our yellow flowers. The males have brought along their females too.

@Athelas good question, it's an unusual one I think. DA describes it as "the myrrh fragrance has delicious hints of hawthorn, elderflower, pear and almond" but I think it smells a bit spicy! It's not a common rose type scent I don't think, but I do like it.Your Vanessa/Olivia combo is looking fab!
