I tried them one yr, but it turned out to be a very wet summer and they all rose to the top of the compost and sat there like a globulous mass of jelly. I wouldn't use them again because I'm not sure how you should dispose of spent compost with them in.

I found an adult vine weevil a couple of nights ago, I dont know, but that suggests to me the overwintering grubs are at the adult cycle just now. So damage done until the next generation get going

It varies around here. Last year I only heard a few, and they were in the distance. The previous year I heard lots and they were near by. None this year yet but I haven't really spent much time in the garden so far, so wouldn't have heard them.

With cosmos I find that after they germinate I wait until the first true leaves are growing well .I then prick out into small pots .soon as they are four inch I nip out the growing tip (just the middle bit ) I then continue to grow on in this pot and repeatedly nip out the centre grow point.the...
