Hmmm... language development has always included the changing of meaning of pre-existing words, and it upsets me that your need for the comfort of existing language not changing seems a higher priority than the much greater challenges faced repeatedly by non-binary people.

The main problem I had was that a lot of my pond was very shallow @Thevictorian , so the water warmed up very quickly. It was impossible to get the depth I wanted at the time I was doing it, but I've been digging it out recently to make it deeper. This thread has just made me wonder if I should...

My rough rule of thumb re putting dahlias outside is this. If it’s good enough for tomato plants to go out, it’s okay for the dahlias too. Unless you had a very deep frost, I suspect the cold will have only nipped the green growth and the tubers will be ok. Move them to a greenhouse/somewhere...

Nothing useful to add as it looks ok to me. We have a small one to help pollinate our other apples and I do know it's a french variety and was named after Eve Reste, not the closely spelt mountain as some people think.

Positive thinking now....
