I am outright jealous of you both for having/getting furry friends. @Michael Hewett a three legged cat sounds like a soul who really needs you. Lovely!

Toadstools, Mushrooms, Moss, Lichen, etc
No, not a shortage this year, probably due to constant use of compost and , especially woodchip derived mulches. In fact several new species beyond the usual range.

Chillies 2025
Last year I had a load of small chillies that I left on the shelf over a radiator and forgot about for several months. They dried out beautifully.

Potato growing 2026
I seem to get a reasonable crop off of the ones I missed the year before, just makes me wonder if the drying out through the winter is not the best of things for a seed potato tuber.
