Great, @simone_in_wiltshire, I'm pleased it's doing well. Those frozen fronds may turn black. I remove those that do, just for aesthetics (they are usually the youngest fronds). On milder days I also remove the fleece stuffed in the crown to allow air to circulate and to dry the fleece out.

If my chillies get a bit leggy I just plant them deeper when they are potted on. They root readily from any buried leaf nodes and I don't remember ever losing one from this method. I don't use grow lights or a heat pad so I won't be starting them till next month.
