I've only ever used it myself as a soil improvement. You can usually only get it in bulk, not really looked to see if you can get it in bags.

I have one of these, it came up in a packet of mixed spores that I bought from T&M about 40 yrs ago. It appears to be a darker green than most pictures I can find.It tends to struggle in dry summers and cold winters but has always survived.
