    AAhhso that's why. The cricket season could easily be three months shorter in the UK, they stand there freezing for the first and last 6 weeks most years.

    Yes @Eddie105, they're pretty hardy and will stand all winter once mature but just keep an eye out for frosts being forecast and be prepared to protect them for a couple of weeks till hardened...

    Probably because they have the chemicals that can be used on some of the potential problems that the ordinary gardener doesn't have access to. Blight etc, admittedly viruses are a bigger problem.

    That looks fine That's about the height that I reduce my Verbena bonariensis to. Your Perovskia shouldn't be tempting for slugs anyway because of the strongly scented, tough, silvery foliage....
