I only back up the files I don't want to lose. They are backed up onto external HDD's and on the cloud (which synchronises both my computers). My important emails are backed up on the IMAP server.

If your router modem is next to your PC why not use a wired connection to it? That way your signal strength wouldn't matter. If you still have problems using a wored connection then there maybe a problem with your router modem settings or PC settings.

I have a battery free wireless mouse. It has its own mouse pad and that gets plugged into the pc. It's great. The mouse is beautifully egonomic to hold and never fails. Highly recommended.
