    Growing melons and netting

    When growing melons in the greenhouse I'm never sure whether to net all sides . Ok it stops the direct sun from the south side but don't the melons need some sun other than the direct sun?

    Looks good - my general suggestion would be to wait for the plants to get established and do their thing - maybe try to curb the impulses to keep adding feed or nip bits off or pull plants up...:)

    Sorry to add to your woes but just picked the first strawberries in the tunnel. The sun has been warming it up and the fruit were a really good size and the taste.....fabulous.

    If it has to be done, I agree with @Adam I keep as much root and soil as possible and reduce the large leaves - a good water and out of full sun for a while until you think it's settled.
