Oh what a mess I lit the heater (not usually my job ) maintenance fella in hospital and it smoked.A very willing volunteer and I spent all day scrubbing from top to bottom ,cobwebs hung from all sides now its diamond clean. We rescued most of the cuttings much to my delight and now the plugs etc...

Has anyone within about 20 miles of Durham and Sunderland got any 8'x4' ply board or other wood of the 3" x 6" or similar type available?(several sizes required) - preferably recycled or small amounts left over etc. We will collect and will agree price to help finish our garden shed.

I have opted for safety glass in mine because of the dogs, but be warned as Fancy says it costs a lot more.Martin also put extra bolts into the wall and base, the safety glass also makes it a lot heavier.Sorry Fancy abolut yours

It's been there a while and has only really suckered this year, two reasons I I think, first the frost killed all the top growth off, then I dug the border and probably broke up all the roots.

Try posting this in General Discussion for more suggestions. How about Abelias? All are fragrant, some are evergreen, most flower for a good while in mid or late summer. Some tend to branch a bit. I've never had Pittosporum- sounds lovely.

My sympathies for the eye injury - I was once attacked by my sperengeri fern! It stabbed me in the eye, dead centre of the cornea - while I was dusting round it! Felt a right p**t having to tell the nurse that I'd been attacked by a pot plant!

Hi Lor, The old 14ft dia frame was a "hub and strut" geodesic dome which i built from timber (165 struts!). The new 6ft dia test frame is also timber, but is a "panel" design which gives a more open structure, although it is harder to build due to more complex compound angle cuts. A hub/strut...

Hmm....I dont think it`s the same place. Pretty sure it was bought out by some tycoon. Used to be open to the public...had jousting and other events. Maybe it`s HidEcote I`m thinking of ? Cheers...freddy.
