Another 5 house Sparrows have fledged in next doors eaves nest adding to the 15 or so already around and another 4 young Siskins have appeared making 11 including parents. A fat ball will be demolished in an hour or so by the mob of young Starlings now hanging around the garden.

Finally saw 1 on my Cosmos yesterday, and a Black and Red one down by the Marina. But 2 in a 5 mile radius is sorrowfull. (there may have been more, but whilst at the Marina I looked and looked then looked again).

Noticeable drop in the number of small birds around me this winter - mostly down to the Red Kites which appear to be taking over ! Putting the feeders near the prickly hedge seemed to be appreciated & I have at least three nests in there this year so things should settle down. Now I need to do...

Sun bathing, not sure if it helps get parasites out of the feathers or they just do it because they like it. It looks like a youngster to me.

Like the gecko, looks like the commoner Moorish and not the Turkish which is slimmer. If only we had more reptiles and amphibians in the uk(they would remove a lot more plant nibbling insects). Guess i'm in a minority here judging by the above posts.

The pigeon he was enjoying belonged to next door but one, (ha ha).Only problem he was disturbed by next doors dog that came through the fence, and I had to clean up the leftovers, still a load of feathers about, but the other birds (when they return) might use them for nesting.Very pleased...
