Album: 18 months of non stop digging!

00000000000000000000000000013167We moved here 18 months ago for a quieter, more relaxed life........ it hasn't worked out that way lol but I am not complaining because I love it here. We are renovating the old barn and making it into our home whilst also trying to do something with the garden and all this on a very tight budget. I started with a blank canvas really as the plot had not been used for several years, it was a very large overgrown, weed infested, bracken ridden snake pit with 2 apple trees stuck in the middle. First thing we did was have a fosse septique fitted which was in the middle of November, which gave us our very own mud bath and a partly overturned garden.... well at least there weren't as many weeds now! Next I tried to give the garden some definition by creating areas for seating, for planting flower beds and for veggies whilst also trying to create some protection against the wind. We also got donated a lot of chickens in the midst of our endeavours and had to create a temporary chicken hut to house them in. Now I have taken a rest from the house renovating and I am concentrating more on the garden and trying to grow some vegetables and fruit. I will try to how pictures of the various stages but it wasn't always in my head to take the photo's.
