    I have grown this on and off for years but the tuber would always waste away after two years , best it has grown in the greenhouse with the tomatoes I would just let it do what it wanted

    I grow it in a large pot - the tubers multiply readily. However, as you say, they seem to have a lifespan of two to three years per tuber.
