Yawn,yawn, wakey, wakey 2017

Aloha everyone,

We got a lot done in the garden yesterday and I might potter around a bit today.

It's our great-niece's wedding today and I must remember to take my book with me. I always take a book to these things as the music is usually much too loud for me (extremely sensitive hearing) and I go and sit in the car and read. All our friends and family are used to me doing it.

This is being held at a venue called The Missing Sock

Good morning all my friends are we all OK and feeling brand new and fresh,of course we are full of positive energy and firing on all cylinders ,have a lovely Sunday

Well, the wedding was full of younger people enjoying themselves and some of us older ones trying to find refuge from the noise! At least half of the older ones didn't have too much trouble as they were either hard of hearing or were reinforced by spending quite a bit of time in the bar. A few of us sat in a quieter alcove in the bar (still extremely noisy from people having to shout at each other to be heard ). I managed to stay for almost three hours - but I had ear plugs in. But a good time was had by all. The evening snacks were sausages, beef burgers and ostrich burgers . Mrs Shiney stayed in there longer and I sat in the car reading a book. .

The Missing Sock is an interesting venue. It used to be a pub but is now a bar and restaurant and a venue for events from weddings to unusual company events. Peculiar décor and funny signs everywhere. I'll see whether any photos came out OK. The signs pointing towards the loos were a pictorial representation of a man and woman with their legs crossed

I've got the semi-final of a big tournament today. It's going to be a really tough one. It's an all play all semi that will reduce the field down to the last 24 for the final. The final is usually in April with another all play all to produce the final table. All the finalists get a sliding scale of awards (points, not money). Keeps the little grey cells working overtime.

Aloha everyone,

Although yesterday's bridge was enjoyable we didn't cover ourselves in glory. My bridge partner apologised to me for making a number of really bad calculations Ah well! That's life

A fairly busy day today and, if it's not raining, I might get a little bit done in the garden. We have a load of allium siculum to pot up ready for Open Day. I'll need to go out and buy another 4 x 70 litre bags of compost.
