Poor old North Koreans, they get blamed for everything. They might be trying to change from their currency, the Won, which is worth 1000 Won to 83p to Bitcoin.............having said that they're both unbacked "currency.:dunno::snorky:

There are now a lot of crypto-currencies and the more modern ones are catching up to Bitcoin. One of the problems, apart from them not being backed by anything substantial, is that they take a long time to trade in them. It can take up to two to three weeks to buy and sell as they now have to go through so many checks.

Back in the early days of cryptos I predicted that the buying and selling would get complicated and that there would eventually be a lot of competition. Dealers in the market still trade them but it's not easy for the small player.

Having said that, if you had got in at the beginning you would have made a fortune by now. In 2010 a bitcoin was costing a penny. It's now worth nearly £14,000 :rolleyespink: All you would have to do is find someone to buy them.

Yep. And now the north korean hackers have a database of their details, which they're promising to delete without disclosing to anyone, provided they get paid a substantial ransom.

The North Koreans don't exactly get my vote for "Country of the Year", but I'm loathe to jump on the band wagon of accusing them of every thing Cyber going. They make a very good, and opportune, Scapegoat for any other Country/Organisation that has the technology and inclination to hide behind them. There are plenty of the usual suspects out there, like China, Russia, Eastern European and other countries with that inclination and technology, so I'll take the North Korean suspects "with a pinch of salt".:dunno::snorky:

Indeed. I can't help thinking there's a lot of propaganda going on. We're being manipulated to hate north Korea because America is getting ready to make them the next example.

I too think the north korean regime is, how shall I put it, dubious to say the least, but when you've got the only nation that's ever used a nuke in anger, did it twice, and has more nukes than anyone else, and has a record for starting wars on your case, part of me can't help thinking they'd want to ramp up their capability as quickly as possible.
