Have just ordered some Charlie's Angel seeds, also some Thompson and Morgan "Antique Fantasy Mixed" - I grew some of the latter last year in one tub and they were the only ones which grew really well so thought I'd try them again alongside the Charlie's Angels. :)

Last year I was really late planting them, I only started the seeds off indoors in April. This year I plan to experiment a little more and start them off indoors in the next month or two, as soon as they germinate I'll put some of them outside (I don't have a cold frame) but will ensure that I take them in at night if there's a chance of a frost.

@TheMadHedger , as Linz said I have grown Charlies Angels for the last two years and been very pleased with them.
I start them off indoors around first week in Feb . I use the cheap plastic pint beakers you can buy in Asda etc . They are nice and tall to give a good root growth . I use MCP and plant 3 seeds to a pot . Beginning of March they go into the GH or a sheltered spot outside . Early April I reove the weakest plant of the three in each pot and pinch the other two above the 4th set of leaves , this is to bush them up a bit . I then plant them out a week or two later , so you will be planting out a double plant in each location . Hope this helps :blue thumb:

You keep on telling it, @HarryS ... I stole your idea last year and my sweet peas came on a treat! Would hate for others not to have the benefit of your wisdom on this one

I started this thread with the intention of doing a step by step guide to SP growing. However, when (for me) the October seed sowing time passed with not much apparent interest, I had rather forgotten about it.
Having said that, I'll be more than willing to help with any queries hereon.

I purchased some seeds yesterday and will be making up soil blocks at the end of the month for starting them. I tried direct sowing last year and got dick so I hope to be successful with starting indoors this year. :)

                        Hi, Woo

Yes indeed, they're very hardy anyway, so unlikely to be bothered by late frosts.
Nipping-out the growing tips would be good at this stage.

I planted mine out yesterday @wiseowl . They will need some slug protection of your choice.
I find when planted out they just sit there not doing a lot for a few weeks. Then they are off like a rocket ! I am growing SP "Our Harry" this year :blue thumb:
