A while back, I did some work with the smilies and at the time I mentioned that we should perhaps take a look at the text codes to make them easier to remember; this was agreed to be a good idea, but I have not managed to get round to it until now, so here is your chance to have your say!

For the avoidance of doubt, the text codes I am talking about is the text that has a colon in at the start and the end like this - :fat controller: - that when typed into a post will display the associated smiley.

I will have to spread this over a few posts to get them all in, but please feel free to add your opinions by posting the smiley and then the text that you think is appropriate WITHOUT adding the colons (just in case the text already exists somewhere, and replaces your suggestion with a smiley!) - Oh, and I am only posting the ones that I currently think we need to look at, but if there is one I haven't listed that you think needs changed, please add it to your post.

That suggest 'supsicious' to me, rather than peekey, whatever that is....

I'm supposed to remember them? :thud: I just click the one I want in the smiley box :heehee:

 Maybe "hbang" ... merely because I anticipate a firework smiley at some point and "bang" might be more appropriate for that in the future?

I think the whole point of the text is to keep it short? This one could easily be "fingX"

Now, to me, that is far more of a "howl" than a simple LOL ;)
            Maybe "luv" is enough?
I'm a bit like "bang" on this one ... I think there may be a point we have a "run" smiley, so perhaps this only needs "rfth" ? Just a thought.

Ah well, at least now we know what your pyjamas look like ;) :heehee:

That one is easy - rumpypumpy

@HarryS - that you can do, and that will remain; however, some of us dinosaurs who learned to use PC's before mice tend to stick to the keyboard as much as possible and avoid having to click on things; the text codes encapsulated in colons allows us to do that.

Thanks for the input @"M" :)

I am not sure about a smiley for fireworks - would that be a picture of terrified animals, or a selfish barsteward?

See, I was thinking this might be more appropriate - they do t-shirts too!

They look fine to me FC with the exception of.....

I agree with Scrungee on this one, more of a suspicious look about it, perhaps 'wary' would work.

Proposals for these two are almost the same and likely to be confused, perhaps just 'rof ' for the first one.

I would love one that simply states "thank you"...

There are so many times it would save space to just be able to acknowledge help without a reply.... and please not a moving one... I think that slows things down....... :)
