I never actually took the "Kings Shilling." It cost all of half a crown to hire a pedalo.

Maybe we should have a "mean and moody" section, or as my mother would have said, "Sullen."
Me in my mid twenties

 

Halloween 1980 - I didn't have any black fabric dye so I used ink to dye the bathing suit top. Imagine my surprise when I was changing into my jammies and discovered that the ink, which I had thought dried and set, had transferred to my chest.... looked like barbells... didn't do that again See the cigarette...when I smoked back then, I only smoked those long skinny ones...

and this is how I look now. Only bigger (60 years bigger) and wearing boots instead of skates....

Filming the two boys in the boats at Butlins, (my parents were there and we were visitors for the day as we were living nearby at that time, Butlins wasn't our sort of holiday)

The baby was in the pram and my wife is wearing the dress she made on the new Singer sewing machine I had bought her.




She made this one too.



When our daughter at around eighteen, saw in photos the length of the dresses and skirts my wife and my sister wore in the sixties, when they were both young mums, she was quite shocked!

I've a video of them both sitting on the sofa at home around that time, you can hardly see their skirts, they were so short. Mind you, they wore "bigger knickers" in those days, though panty-girdles were a thing of the past.

 

I was born serious .... remember asking mum ''where did I come from'' ?????

Our daughter was a little goody two-shoes.




Wouldn't eat chocolate, as it made her fingers messy.
She was very sensible. When we started going out occasionally in the evening, when our eldest was fifteen, she was seven. She was left in charge. The boys behaved as she would rat on them if they didn't.

 

When one had to wear knickers like this, one learned to see the joke..... this was taken before the seriousness of the question of one`s existence became a problem...

 

I had bloomers.... oh, lordy.... great and funny memories....

 

What about those thick cotton navy school knickers with the pocket for your hanky in them?
