I would really love a puppy, only thing is we both work. Husband has just started a new job and the director brings his chocolate Labrador puppy into the office. He keeps pushing hubby to get one and take it to work but he’s having none of it. :frown:

The garden can always be put right. Enjoy :blue thumb:

If you're at work it'll cost around £20 a day for someone to come and check on a new puppy.

Our youngest son's dog Ted, has someone who comes during the day to take him for a walk.

Have done since he was a puppy. He said the first time this woman came, the dog didn't want to go with her. But in the end she managed it.

He said when he came home the first evening, "the dog wouldn't speak to him."

Most dogs are intelligent. He loves it if they go to their "holiday home" at the week-end. Far more than their usual home. We worked it out, that it's because he knows he's not going to be left on his own when they are there.

I'm hoping to get a pup when I retire, wont get one now as I'm not around for most of the day in the week.
I'd never leave a dog, much less a puppy, while at work all day, I dont think that is right.

Had a dog all my life but when my last one died five years ago, due to circumstances of finding someone to look after it during the day, I'm having to wait.
          Driving me mad.

Never buy a puppy on the internet. Puppy farming should be banned by law. My dogs come from such an establishment originally - before I rescued them, and I have cared for and rehomed a lot of dogs - working as a foster carer with a recognised rescue.

Anyone looking for a dog - puppy, or older dog, would do well to consider going to a reputable rescue centre. DSC00059.JPG DSC00010.JPG DSC00029.JPG DSC00021.JPG DSC00032.JPG Just a few of my fosters.

@pete you'll get one eventually mate and i believe having them from a pup as you can then train the pup to how it should be besides learning going through to adult with commands etc.

When they're puppies as you well know they need one main roll to control them :)

@Tetters what a beautiful little bunch you have there mate :wub2:...my auntie had two toy yorkies, handsome and sheena and she brought us one Brandy.

I believe puppy farms should be closed but proper established breeders who show at crufts shouldn't...i know a lady who breeds staffies and the breed in size and build are great but when sold they're still checked every 6mths for just over a year and if she sells a bitch then they add something to the pedigree (Can't think of the name sorry) but it stops the buyer for 18mths from breeding the bitch.

Our bruno was knocked about for the first 2yrs of his life and he came to us 19kg in weight...frightened of a newspaper, odd things and i got him out of him and soon built him up :)

Both myself and Carol work with dogs and we've 8 of our own (cannot have too many dogs) so looking after Lily isn't an issue....... the garden on the other hand!:noidea:
