    Hello to everyone.
    I’m new here.
A bit of a background to me ...
I started gardening about 5 years ago after being near mud phobic. I still consider myself to be a ‘newbie’.
We moved into our home 10ish years ago, the previous occupants didn’t like gardening so had the back decked & landscaped (this suited us at the time).
Over the past 5 years i’ve Put in a myrtle, Californian Lilac, dwarf lilac, violets lavender etc.
When my daughter (now 12) was about 4 she ate a shop bought cherry & we planted the stone and amazingly it grew. It’s now about 10 feet high and for the second year it’s blossomed with white flowers which is just beautiful. However, there’s only about 6 lots of blossom buds across the whole of the tree- can anybody advise me why this this?
    Sorry this is so long...
    Thanks in anticipation x

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Tickleymonster. I'm sure you've learnt quite a bit in five years and will probably surprise yourself as you interact with our friends here. :)

Hello Tickles - welcome to the forum. You remind me of my daughter - she always calls the soil ''mud''
I always think that trees (as well as other plants ....and men) have minds of their own. Who knows why they behave as they do :dunno: Weather conditions, nutrients, water supply etc can all make a difference. As your tree matures, it will improve as long as it likes the conditions.
The more time you spend with your plants, the more you will get to know them :blue thumb:

It's because it is a young tree. Over the years the blossom will increase as the tree matures. It will probably produce cherries eventually but they are unlikely to be of 'dessert' quality. They will probably be small and rather tasteless but the birds will love them.....so enjoy the tree and the fact that you are encouraging thrushes to your garden.
