    Hello chums.
Whilst down my local GC today, I was admiring their floral display at the entrance. On closer inspection, what they had were baskets which were fixed to a large (9”?) square post. Basically, they were ‘L’ shaped on the fixing side. A bit hard to describe, but if you had two of these, they would surround a square post. Does anyone know what I’m talking about (:)), and better still, know where I might lay my hands on some?
    Cheers...Freddy

You’re on the right track Joolz. It was made out of wrought iron, with curved sides though. If you put two of them together, you’d have a circular basket with a square hole in the middle.
I think I’ll have to ‘knock’ something up for myself :)

Yes, do ask the garden centre--I suspect that these are fittings that are made for sale to businesses and councils rather than private gardeners. I've noticed that RBKC uses something similar every Christmas, clipped round the lamp-posts in the King's Road and elsewhere, with several trees in each to create the effect of one big-but-presumably-hollow tree.

I did ask. They were supplied by a company that has now gone bust

Actually, the one in the middle is pretty much it. Two straight edges that could be secured to a square post. Not able to view without ‘signing up’, but they look like they’re made of plastic?
