    And I mentioned:

    "Having a separate secure recording online wouldmean you could watch them them doing it"

    I included that last bit because I thought the scroats robbing your stuff wouldn't pause to do a google image search of your cameras to check whether they were part of a system with online recording.

    Thieves are aware that its very easy to set any system up to the internet to store your images/recordings so they wont be going to the trouble to knock your door down to find your hard drive, as mentioned all we can do is try and prevent them, hiding cameras is not a good idea we are trying to deter thieves not catch wildlife, white cameras in full view is a far better deterrent,

    Yes you would be watching them doing it but you have more chance of catching them after the event than not having anything setup.
