Solved Are These African Daisies?

    Are these African Daisies, because it has been grown into a tree?

    Well @clum111 your top pic certainly looks like them.. African daisy or Daisybush.. Osteospermum... :scratch: Not sure what your second photo is of...

      Osteopermum can get leggy and spread if they are not contained/cutback. I have never seen one clamber up a tree but I have seen Geraniums do it!

        I once saw osteospermums trained up a cottage wall down here. Pelargoniums too. :)

          Thanks. The second photo is the same plant, that's the trunk. It's my friend's & I was asking for him, because I've never seen an African Daisies to be grown as a tree.

          Can you explain why the leaves are different in picture 1 compared to picture 2?

          Errr, I can't actually. but its the same plant though. I'll ask him to rephotographed tomorrow.

            That would be good because the flowers are not at all the same in the tree picture. .. :)

            In the second picture, it looks like a rhododendron type flower and leaf to my tired eyes, but I could be wrong....

              I agree they are totally different species. Neither Osteos nor Geraniumn/Pelargoniums have trunks.

                Definitely not the same the 2nd looks like a Rhodo...the blooms are completely different with no dark centres.

                At first I thought this was an old thread....an April 1st one!!;)

                  A bit of a wild guess but how about the shrub in second pic being one of the Oleanders..? They flower from Spring through the summer here... :scratch:
