I does feel like spring going to be early this year , quite a lot of bulbs are springing up already, they is a small ornamental cherry which has had blossom on for a couple of weeks. I noticed the aconitums today I have two and one is called royal flush because its has vibrant red leaves when it emerges , its already gone past the red stage with out me noticing the other one already a few inch tall.
Supposed to get colder next week so I am sure that will slow everything down and stop me from insuring the bike for a while longer

@CanadianLori I'm glad to see things well on; however my main worry is that I will lose a lot of things if we have a cold snap like in 2018. Then I'll be looking forward to seeing your spring flowers.

This is the Hebe that has been flowering all winter

                P1470349.JPG

Verbena bonariensis is showing buds already and lots of others are covered in new leaves (I only cut some of them back to knee height)

Some of the Sweetpeas have survived but don't know whether they will produce flower (didn't get around to cutting these back when we did the others)

Yesterday I noticed that my Buddleja salviifolia "Alba" is coming into flower, normally in April, scent is welcome whenever though.

Don't you remember the book 'The Midwich Cuckoos' by John Wyndham? They made the 1960 film of it under the name 'The Village of the Damned'. They then made a remake in 1995 set in America with Christopher Reeve and Kirstie Alley.

John Wyndham also wrote 'The Day Of The Triffids', 'The Chrysalids', The Kraken Wakes', 'The Trouble With Lichen' and many more, under different names. Quite a lot of them have been made into films, radio series and TV series. The kids TV series 'Chocky' was from one of his books.

Don't worry @shiney I've heard of them and read John Wyndham as a youngster, saw the TV series of the Day of the Triffids and the Midwich Cuckoos. More recently enjoyed them as radio adaptations.
