Aww how lovely! I had my wedding photographs there too! We got married in the Judges Lodgings right next to the castle then We walked over and had our "do" at the Bishops Palace opposite the cathedral. I was one of the last weddings they did there before it was turned back into some religious admin building. No chance of a cathedral wedding! Ha ha.

And, when I lived on my own in Lincoln I lived next door to the then only female red arrows pilot (ive forgot her name Oops lol). I lived at Burton Waters. Loved it there. Is that where your daughter is or is she actually in Scampton?

She's in Scampton (MOD not the old village) so there is only a fence separating her from the runway. They are gradually shutting Scampton base down so are selling off the properties. She sits in her garden and watches them practice.

Water... I love painting water... rivers with reflections or sea. I think I've only painted four portraits ever!

I usually give my paintings away to family and friends, but I'm planning to try to sell the miniatures to raise money for Guide Dogs (I'm the co-ordinator for the volunteer fundraiser group in this area and we have been scuppered by the lockdown. We were on target to raise nearly £30,000 this year but now we'll be lucky to reach £3,000.)

I agree, there is something rather ethereal about it.

One of the collections I love is the animalia one by Clarke and Clarke (UK) as it also has vibrant colours. Very nice @Cordy 's wife!

@CanadianLori I want to make a seat cushion/pad for a wooden kitchen bench we've got in our kitchen. Nothing fancy-just a rectangle. What kind of material should I use for the padding? Is there a good type of foam to use?

This is the easiest way to tackle a one cushion job. Go and get a cheapie (possibly pound store) chair cushion that is the right size, then rip out it's insides and reuse it. Foam suppliers are few and far between so this would save you a lot of time.

I also was mesmerized by their botanics collections. Some of that wallpaper would make a lovely surfaces for a room divider. Something like the pics @Victoria has shared :)

Ooh thanks Lori-that is a brilliant idea. The bench is about 1.5m wide so will have to look for a cushion or put a couple together.

ooh another great idea about the room divider and that wallpaper too.

Mum and I are having a crafting day together on Friday-I've got some inspiration for that now :rolleyespink:

Been away in cornwall for a little break so there's no progress at the moment. Will probably have another go at it when we get home tomorrow. I'll keep working away at it
