I have a climbing rose and I've noticed the honeysuckle is growing wrapped around the main stem of the rose. should I cut back the honeysuckle to the base and re-train it?

When lonicera or clematis is grown along with roses, in fact with most mixes. It's wise to keep the twinning plants under control.

I would just give it a pruning leaving about two thirds, Rayla. Honeysuckle is a fast grower and will need just pruning annually back to your eye's satisfaction rather than a harsh cut back.

Thanks, I've got 3 to prune in total so I'll just cut them back in the winter months ready for next year.
