Leaves look more like hollyhock than digitalis, which are not lobed

What did the roots look like? A long stem with multiple starts, or a single growing point?

Foxgloves grow a rosette of large, unserrated leaves so look very different to hollyhocks or Geraniums that could also perhaps fit the bill here.

Mystery plants are fun  ... I trust that the friend who gave you the roots is a good friend...:heehee:

I'm good at mystery plants i have lots of them. Labels go missing or I forget where i planted what, especially bulbs.
The latest mystery came from a packet of Fuchsia seed one plant appeared, germinated very quickly and grew well unfortunately doesn't look like any fuchsia I've seen; currently it's in the greenhouse and I'm waiting to see if it forms a stem at the moment it's just a rosette, not a foxglove though.
Picture will be posted sooner or later.
