Found this today taken in Longleat. Wish I had a garden this big

ADMIN EDIT - behind this spoiler tag is an image of a child in a garden; whilst it is not illegal or pornographic in any way, it is highly questionable. We have left the image here as an example of the type of images being deployed to entrap/scam people, Please see Post 11

No way, I just looked it up and it's immense, hundreds of acres! :yikes: I'd like about 5-6 acres and enough money to hire a couple of people to regularly do the lawns, weeding and basic pruning. I'd also include a small woodland and a fairly large wildflower meadow. I've recently realised that what I actually really like about gardening is the more creative side of it, what I want to do is sort of learn to paint with plants eventually. Wish I had the space for more deep borders where you can seriously experiment with different colours, heights and shapes/habits.

I've never been to Longleat, although passed by the gate around this time last year - is it a good day out @Verygreen? Do you have other photos from your day there?

I have been many years ago, I can't really remember the gardens. All I remember is the drive through monkey enclosure. They appear to know the weak points of each type of passing car, to begin with it was fun as they jumped on our car, then they systematically prised off various parts, the long rubber roof seals and wipers. That was a very expensive trip.

The lions enclosure is the scary bit, plenty of warning signs saying to lock your door and never leave your car. They didn't come close which was a shame. The gardens are fantastic, plenty of picnic spots and old green house buildings. I don't think many people visit the gardens.

Those hostas look incredible en masse, I don't suppose anyone here knows the cultivar name, or at least something very similar? Might be handy for the shadier parts of my garden. :)

Ladies and gentlemen we need to make you aware that some images that get posted are not always as innocent as they may seem... the images posted in this thread rang some alarm bells with the Admin Team, and sure enough it wasn't long before further images were being shared via PM. Whilst these images were also not illegal or pornographic, they were also not the sort of image that you would want your child to be sharing with strangers over the internet - - I say child, as it is our firm belief that the person in these images is a minor, despite claims of being older.

This led us to do some investigation this afternoon, and before long we linked this account with another that was banned from GC in the latter part of last year, for very similar behaviours - - portraying themselves as a member genuinely interested in gardening, fairly rapidly moving on to sending images by PM (some very questionable from what we could gather), inviting the other member to join Kik or TikTok to then presumably share even more questionable (potentially illegal) images.

Last year when this prior account had been brought to our attention, enquiries were made with legal services (police/CPS) and we established that this was a known scam to hook people in unwittingly to then go on and bribe them after having sent/shown them images of a risqué nature by informing them that they had viewed images of a minor.

As you hopefully all know, we take the safety of our members extremely seriously here at GC, and we will always take swift and decisive action when something like this surfaces. We also will NOT tolerate any inappropriate material nor will we stand back and see our members be entraped/scammed in any way.

Whilst we go to great lengths to vet everyone that applies to join GC, very occasionally one will slip the net - - please be mindful of this when you are sent any PM's from new members, particularly if those PM's contain images or are suggestive/risqué in any way.

In the event that you do receive images of this nature, please use the Report link on the relevant post within the PM - this makes a copy of that post and sends it to us in the office and allows us to see it, and allows us to assist. Private messages are exactly that, private, so unless you use the report link we will not be able to see or help - simply sending us a message will not suffice.

We strongly advise against joining platforms such as Kik or TikTok under circumstances like this and if anyone asks you to do so, ignore or report.

If you choose not to heed the information/advice here, then be aware that you are responsible for your own actions and therefore the consequences are entirely yours.

Ha! Don't bother with SW France then! That's exactly what I envisaged doing, but the extremes of climate put paid to that! I've only got 2 acres, but without help it's a losing battle. Most Brits that buy vast plots here end up turning the acres over to a local farmer to manage. Then they whinge about the colour of the flowers on the crop that he plants...:roflol:
