Forgot to say Van had a bottomless appetite, hence his full name. They eat about the same ... it is just his build, like her tiny frame. All cats who have owned us over 56 years have been homeless waifs.

 

When I lived with my parents (100s of yrs ago!) we adopted a cat that was thrown out of a car. We 'shared' him with near-by neighbours. My mother named him Garfield
He must have been about 20 yrs old when he died. I will have to look for a photo, I'm sure there's one here somewhere.

 

People can be so cruel. I would love to see a photo of Garfield Michael.

 

River is 18 weeks old, he still likes to lie by the water bowl. When i pick the bowl up to change the water, he lies in its place.

Ted is a handsome boy and I bet he is spoiled rotten and loves his new home.

 

Wow, he is almost as big already.

 

Yes, he is understandably taking a bit of time to settle in his new home. He loves his bed, probably never had as much luxury in his past life.

 

When did you get him and how old is he?

We have never taken animals (cats for us) into the UK out of mainland Europe except for holidays, but we did bring three from England to Portugal, and loved loved it here dying aged 13, 15 and 20.

 

He came home last Monday, so has been with us for just a week. Ted is 6 & half years old according to his passport. How accurate that is is hard to tell!
It's the first rescue we have taken in, however we had a cat called Blues recently who was abandoned by my Sister's neighbours when they moved house! He really landed on his feet, a h ousehold with no children or other pets! Sadly he had to be put to sleep in May this year, but we'd given him 11 years of love as indeed he'd given us his in an inimitable 'cat like' way!

 

Blues is like our Magic Sam (a black Blues guitarist) we called Boo. He was five when we came here and we had him put to sleep aged 20.
