I actually meant that home (in Pembrokeshire) to Devon would’ve been much shorter by boat
It was only an hour to The Garden House, so not too bad. We were amused to find a coach party of OAPs had arrived just before us, we could've joined them for the talk. People in the way everywhere made it hard to take photos
I highly recommend visiting Rosemoor too.

Southsea Rose Garden today, the photos don't do it justice nor do they capture the amazing fragrance

One of my favourite gardens @Bluejayway, if only I had the space and energy to replicate those long herbaceous borders .

It's a really special garden @Michael Hewett , they reckon that their herbaceous borders were the first in the UK:), and a real sight to behold when in full bloom!

As part of our anniversary we visited National Trust Dyffryn Gardens on Saturday. Glad we got there in the morning as later on it was heaving. A beautiful arboretum with some magnificent mature trees from around the world. The walled garden was disappointing as most was down to membrane but then they are trying to restore the gardens and the house. The lily ponds were alight with some stunning flowers and the demoiselles and dragonflies also thought it was all lovely. The glass house is a lovely shape but the plants weren't all up to scratch (again could be because they are focussing on other areas).
Still we enjoyed the visit, walked a long way and used our BBC Gardeners World 2 for 1.

On Sunday we visited the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. We have been before and were very impressed. No 2 for 1 here but you can use your ticket/s for 7days as many visits as you like. Brilliant if you are locals or staying nearby.
In the dome they are restoring the water fountain so the wet area was not there. Some amazing plants from across the world under a magnificent dome.
The land area is enormous and you could walk for miles in the meadows/woodland areas.
The walled garden...words can't describe how vibrant the colours, the diversity, the smells, the heights...and then I've tried. There are throughout the gardens seating areas which you do need so that you can sit and just take in the marvels.
The herbal gardens and the Wallace gardens are so worth a visit.
Our visit had the added bonus of "no dog day". I know that will upset some of you but having been very badly attacked and spending hours in A&E last year for treatment, for me going somewhere to enjoy without being scared of dogs was bliss.
If you are in the area the Botanic Gardens of Wales give it a go. It really is worth while.
I don't show photos of these visits as I hope you will be surprised by what you see when you go.

Dyffryn House is a lovely place to visit, I haven't been there for many years but it's lovely.
I live only 12 miles from the Botanic Garden of Wales, and I pass it often. I went in a few years ago but didn't think much of the big dome.

@Michael Hewett surprised about the dome but not. We did think that it was in decline but the outdoors areas were certainly worth the effort and price.
