I work at a care-home as maintenance, and I have been looking after some roses we planted a few months back. They have been doing brilliantly. I went out to dead-head today and noticed that one of them is not doing very well compared to the others in close proximity. I have attached some photos below of the affected rose bush. I am clueless to what could be causing this issue as I have been feeding, pruning and general hygiene all through-out.

Any potential answers to my problem will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hi @MitchR

Overall, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Roses are tough plants.

Usually yellowing of leaves is relating to watering. Has it been quite wet there? It could be that because the other roses are bigger, they were able to cope better with excess moisture.

One thing that I would definitely do is pull back some of those bark chippings. There should be a bit of clearance around the base of each rose. This will also help excess water evaporate.

Another possibility is a slight nutrient deficiency, potentially caused by too much moisture. But considering it's mid September, I wouldn't fertilise. They should start winding down to go to dormancy, rather than being pressured into growing more foliage & flowers by applying fertiliser.

Either way, I think the rose is going to be fine
