Munchkin has found a new area to snooze and hide ... pretending she is a rock in the rockery ...

She's well camouflaged @Victoria. I had to zoom in to see her.

It gets the sun a lot of the day. Normally she snoozes here on the sun lounger (which we call the shade lounger ...

Heating is on and our Degus want to pile up to nap on the radiator :)

The "Rat" is very old and scruffy but still enjoys a walkie on the table and helps out with the jigsaw puzzle. Pieces fit better if the pointy bits are nibbled off apparently.

Now how cute and cosy are they? Do they have names?

Of course. The Rat is named after my pet rat I had when I was young, who was called "Mouse". There's some logic there trust me

Squirrel is called squirrel because she looks like one, and "Small" is, well, small. We kindly refer her as being "dwarf variety". :heehee:

Degus are lovely pets, they are very sociable and verbal and think humans are great as we are warm and talk.

When The Child was young, she used to read her GCSE texts out aloud to the degus who gathered to listen.

This lot is from a rescue charity from Covid times, Rat was pregnant when she came to us so we had a wonderful time with 11 walnut sized babies with all the aunties looking after them. :) deekuruoho1.jpg firstbath.jpg varpaat.jpg vauvajaorava.jpg

They are adorable @Selleri and I love the names! We had a hamster called “mouse” once.

They are cuter than cute. It would be horrid of me to put temptation in front of my furries so they will have to settle for frightening geckos. :hate-shocked: Do you still have all of them?

We just fostered the pups until they were weaned and then the charity took them back for re-homing. Our cage is big, but 18 degus would have been a bit much  so we just kept the four we had agreed on before it turned out that Rat was in a family way.

The charity had rescued them from a degu "farm" in London, someone was just breeding them for sale and kept them in squalid conditions. Apparently they had over 200

One more photo... this one is about 1 hrs old and already happily exploring around and falling of their nest. :wub2:

After 2 nights in kennels, Rufus is happy to be home.
The other 2 take it in their stride, but they haven't had the difficulties he's faced. Home now and loved. 20251030_194747.jpg

This was taken by our dog walker from Redditch Dog Walking. I'll be doing the walks myself from Tuesday.

This is the eldest Barley by the fridge, he makes it difficult to get to and to get out into the garage.
