Great photos, we haven't been to Wisley for ages too. Same reasons the roadworks, it's a long trip for us anyway as we are on the opposite side of London.

We're about 40 miles away to the east of Wisley, but there has been 2 major sections of roadworks on the M25, which turned an hour into two each way! Thankfully they're finished now.I enjoy Wisley because there's always something to see regardless of the season.

It all your fault @Scroggin
I showed your pictures to my wife, so we made a late decision to go, only 55 min to go late morning, but 2hrs plus to get back , just got home. :noidea:
Anyway we had a lovely day, it's much more advanced than we are here. I won't duplicate all your lovely pictures but will add these.

Only a few Orchids on display in the greenhouse, but some unusual ones.
            Enjoy.

A question... when we visit a garden are we allowed to take photos of other visitors in the garden without their permission?

I think gardens with access to all( even if an entrance fee is charged) are regarded as a public space and as such there is no restriction on photographing someone. If it's a private area with special restricted access then only by permission of the owners.

If I visit a small open garden I always ask if it's OK to take photos, to be polite. I've never had a refusal yet .
When it comes to visiting a large garden such as Great Dixter then it can be practically impossible to take a photo without a couple of people in it somewhere. Most people nearby see that you are taking a photo and move out of the way.

I always feel sorry for anyone who inadvertently ended up with me in one of their shots. Ruined .

You can always block out their faces to make them sort of 'anonymous' , but if they're in the distance and nobody can make out who they are it should not matter.

So yesterday I went to one of the best gardens in the country, with a massive bonus it is free, it’s behind where I work, but saying that you have to be careful you are not savaged by the Lions.

So I had to go into work yesterday and touch base after being off work since before Christmas. So a colleague of mine who happens to love daffodils, so we went for a nice walk around Regent’s Park, it is certainly the best London Royal Park and will be even better when they open the late Queen’s Memorial Garden. I would say it is the countries show garden and one that rivals other countries.

Still early for the park, but it is showing great signs of life stirring with promise.

But no cream tea or Victoria sponge.

Have you seen this thread? Gardens and Pretty Places we have visited

When I was a student nurse in London years ago Regent's Park and Green Park kept me sane.

Beth Chatto's Garden is lovely in spring and summer.

                    No I haven’t.

In that case, I would be very happy if the mods merged the threads.

The annual pass thing is spot on. I started doing that with a local garden and it completely changed how I think about winter planting. You notice stuff you'd never catch on a single visit.
