Just had a delivery from T&M (had actually forgotten about it!) - my garlic and autumn onions. All looks brilliant but there's also a note in there...

'Due to variations in weather and growing conditions, we haven't been able to guaranteee the quality you would expect from Thomson and Morgan; we have therefore included an extra bag of your chosen onions for free. We trust this meets your expectations.'

Damn right it does. The sets received all look in top nick so they could have kept quiet about this but they went the extra bit to keep their customers happy. And that's what I am today, a very happy customer!

I wonder if this may be in response to JPD and their Customer Service issues. It would certainly encourage ex-JPD customers (like me) looking for replacement suppliers to contact them.
      Thanks for the info.:dbgrtmb:

I find T & M are a very good company to buy from . It seems to be the thing to knock and rubbish the big companies , but they do deliver on time, quality is good and they have some excellent special offers. Also their range is so big I use the web site as a reference for seed cultural info . I did have one complaint with them and it was sorted immediately. So T & M :dbgrtmb:

PS : GCC what is JPD

Jersey Plants Direct - we covered the horrors earlier this year. I, personally, had a nightmare series of transactions with them. The Customer Service just didn't exist.
      I was not alone.

I used T & M over the years but I must admit to having abandoned them because of one thing....price. I used to buy Tom seeds from them but their prices became higher and higher. Their Rosada Tomato seed are nearly £4 for 5 seeds, and last year out of the 5 seeds only 4 germinated pushing the price of the seeds up even further. This year I bought from Nicky's Nursery buying 10 Rosada seeds for £2.95p, so while I admit you get excellent customer service from T & M that's not enough to keep me as a customer when their prices are so high for so little.:what::mad:

I ordered some seed from T&M earlier this year and after waiting 2 weeks (expected delivery within 7 days) I rang them up and told them I hadn't recieved my order - "no problem we'll pop another in the post" - which arrived the following day!!! :thumb: Excellent...

I recieved my original order some 6 weeks later; a little battered, so I don't know where that had been, I rang them to see if they wanted me to return them, they said keep them with our compliments.

And then to top it all off when I opened one packet of seed there were 2 little foils packets inside instead of just the one, so I got even more seed

Exactly the same thing happened to me Bilbo, they told me if the originals arrived to keep them with their compliments which they did a couple of weeks later, wonder where they'd been:scratch:, so I now have all my hanging basket seeds for next year:yess:.

I only bought some seeds from T&M earlier this year [1] because I had a £5 voucher and used it to buy a selection pack (approx one third off ?).

One packet of seeds appeared too small and some of them discoloured and even smaller, but not being familiar with that variety I sowed them.

Only 4 out of 6 germinated and 1 of those was a runt so I complained and T&M offered a replacement packet. I had to point out that it was now too late to re-sow (can't they even think of that themselves?) and requested a refund.

Several weeks later when checking my credit card statement I noticed they had not refunded the correct amount, so I had to get back to them and get the rest refunded, so it took about 2 months to get my money back.

In the meantime another plant failed.

And are T&M the only seed supplier stupid enough to put the batch number on the top of the packet (which gets torn off when you open it) and then ask for it when the seeds fail?

[1] Remembered I bought some of their bargain 'lucky dips' which were 10 pkts of seed for £1 and used a code to get free P&P.
