:sunny: Well I can't find my first post.. Although if I remember rightly it was about the very old wooden greenhouse up at the farm & how to fit some vents into it to get more air-flow... :sunny:

      This was mine:-

      Sick Gloire de Dijon!
My climbing rose Gloire de Dijon was doing very well indeed until it had to be cut back hard to allow the house to be painted. It has never recovered from this trauma. It now manages only spindly, weak little stems which often die back. It is, however, still producing copious flower buds, which I am picking off because the plant cannot sustain them. Do you think my rose is doomed, and that I should dig it up? Or would something like a nitrogen-only fertilizer help? (I've tried rose fertilizers.)

Woo and others gave me some useful advice and I still have the rose growing around my door and it still annoys the hell out of the postman.

Hi dalbui, I'm new to the site I just discovered you all! I noticed you are growing tomatillo seeds. Where did you get them I have been looking for ages to find some with no luck. I would really like to grow them as their flavour is great in Mexican cooking. [IMG] "

Mine was a picture of our garden as it was in October 2005. The picture is sadly long gone though.

Ah ha that's what I was doing but missed that I joined in '09 and obviously didn't post until '10. Here's my first post!

"Apologies for not saying hello before. I've been reading this site for a long time, only just registered and will write a better introduction when I get more time!

In the meantime, thank you to everyone for the great posts. I'd like to think I have a lot to contribute. There seems to be a great community here and I'd love to be a part of it.

            Peace

                [IMG] Aubergines!
Hello everyone, new member here. I have grown aubergines for the first time this year. I started the plant off initially behind glass but once about 15 to 18 inches moved it outdoors. Have fed it throughout the summer on tomato feed and am pleased to say I have one aubergine about the size of a full grown apple (round!) I have some other healthy blooms but suspect it will be too late for them to do anything this year. The bees must have done their work either that or they are self pollinating because I certainly did not aid mine to pollinate.

                  Spruce,
It looks as though this was your second post - a long time after your first

                  "Hi All

Depending what you are after is the main problem localy

I have found Van Meuwan very good and the prices £££ for what you get is realy good compared to a smaller supplier and at least they do change the varietis more plus if you buy on line loads of offers each month . TM I dont bother with anymore and it was a suprise to se others on here feeling the same way just thought I was being fussy, but lateness of plants especialy....My surname starts with a Y and Iam sure because of this everything takes a age to turn up... with the big boys.

I still like my local nursery down the road with just the one person running the whole thing.

How long do Giant Pumpkin seeds take to germinate? Ours have been planted since 1st May = 24 days and still no signs of life! Any advice please?
