Hey peeps I have been making a rockery of sorts and my favourite plant is a carpet of saxifrage. Well I have been away for a few months over the winter and my plant has turned aweful sick. Half of it has turned brown for no reason that i can see. It has been very windy up here but this plant has survived the winter for the last few years no problem.

Anyone got any idea what is wrong with my plant and if there is anything i can do to stop this happening again..
    pik below i think

    Thank you....
ps on a side note how do i find old threads of mine. I cannot see them listed in my profile or anything.. Im kinda new year..

That looks as if it has suffered from drought at some time. Remove all the dead material and cover the space left with grit/gravel and make sure the plant has sufficient water. It will soon cover the area again.

    Its
Its not a drought problem. I live on the western isles and we never have a problem with lack of rain. I was wondering if the opposite can cause it.. It was a wet winter..

Never seen this particular saxifrage suffer from too much rain before. Only time we have had this kind of damage was drought, or cat urine. The rest of the advice remains the same.
