I always plan - it always goes out the window though!
I have just the one Erythrina which made a good size last year. The flower racemmes were snapped in some strong winds though, which was a real downer:cry3:

Well, you've seen my style of gardening:heehee:, over planting and chaotic.....which is the way I think a Cottage Style garden should be. I always follow Geoff Hamilton's advice "If there's soil you can see, put a plant in it". I just love walking along the paths and having to "fight" my way through getting the feel and smell of the leaves and flowers. Let's see how this year performs:biggrin:

The new garden has a seating area under a pergola - I do have great plans for this involving several climbers!

Make it a lot of climbers!!! At the Trellis Archway entrance to my garden I've got 8 Clematis on one side and five on the other. Plus there'll be Sweetpeas planted around it. At the Arbour I've put Rose Compassion and two Honeysuckle on the South side and Rose Alchemist and two Honeysuckle on the North side and it'll be their first year so it's going to be interesting. Get's you excited with anticipation doesn't it. When are you moving?:biggrin:

      Move happens mid April.
The house next door has a Clematis, but I'm hoping to convince the new owner who moves in the day after me that they're evil (I'm not keen on Clems, sorry)!
I have three Vigna caracalla, a Bomerea hirtella, Gloriosa, Clitoria ternatea and my Passiflora alata............

The move's not far off then. Oh, each to their own when it comes to plants, it would be so boring if we all liked the same thing!! I've never tried any of the ones you have, Passiflora don't seem to like my sandy soil, but I keep trying!! Well, at least you've got a good variety of climbers for the Pergola. I take it you're going to keep us up to date when you move and the new garden./

Not sure that fun is quite the word I'd use.
Also, Ivy in the dry stone wall.

Well, look at it this way, you've got a real opportunity of making it the way you want, some place that'll make you give a sigh of content and a smile, plus an "Ouch" when you feel the blisters and scratches:biggrin:

Your ripping out half of my front garden.
I think Japenese Anemonies are great and the Periwinkle has been gracing my front wall for 20 years - a good haircut 2-3 times a year keeps it in check

A certain irony has just dawned on me Armandii - you have a cottage garden and a tropical garden kitchen!!!
