We have been invited to a wedding of my husband's nephew to a girl we never met yet.
The wedding is at end of July in Malibu, Calif. So far we have received a fancy "save the date" card. And then finally the wedding invite---must have spent a mint on it.
The wedding is at an Estate overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
We have already booked the suggested near by hotel and will have a limo shuttle to & from the wedding. After the reception there is a "cigar & brandy" gathering there also.
The brides parents----happen to be mulit millionars

So my delima, is now I "really" have to get a GREAT DRESS. I can imagine what the guests will be wearing those associated with this family.

But, I simply hate some of the tradtional "uncomfortable " looking satin dresses. And I will not wear heels, hate the idea of nylons----especially in July. (hot)

I do have some stores in mind, one of which is in Key West. So next week I will be there, hopfully they have what I want, they are unique in style, and all handmade one of a kind items, with wonderful fabric choices.

    What stress, LOL.

When I was a college, I used to be a wedding photographer to earn extra weekend money and pay for my college (I paid myself) ....

I also worked in the evenings for a national newspaper and was also was involved in shooting fashion shows and portfolios ... I must have photographed over 400 weddings ...

post a pic of yourself and I will give you some of my ideas

Don't think of it as stress. think of it as a wonderful chance to treat yourself to something really lovely!! If your legs look good without nylons then nobody is going to notice, if not then wear something long, the dress pictured above is gorgeous maybe something along those lines but full length!!

LOL. I am actually thinking of something mid-calf. Something that softly flows.
Nice short heeled shoes/sandles. Get a great Pedicure and I am good to go.

Dim, I am found in the faces thread. Next week this time I will be shopping.

Sounds perfect. Maybe something made of silk as it's comfortable and looks suitably luxurious. Do you wear hats for U.S. weddings? They add a touch of pzazz to a simple outfit. If it was the UK you'd have to think about adding a shrug or jacket in the event of it being wet and freezing but maybe that won't be necessary in Malibu.

Not bad Dim. but no to the heels, to high.
The style of the dress is nice, need longer and better fabric.

If I wear anything on my head it will be a facinator ---but have to find the dress first before I consider hat or not, Or even how I will wear my hair --up or down??
            Such the issues of women.

Dim, the shoes and the bag go together.
The dress and the shoes go together.
But the shoes and the dress and the bag don't go together. IMO.
                It's probably a girl thing.
