Not been there for a few years, it used to be a good place for a quite walk and to look at the trees of interest.
Its now become very organised, and if you have the cash, you can get in.
Personally, I give it a miss as the parking charges are extortionate if you just want a walk with the dog.
Also its dogs on a lead these days, Zoe would never forgive me if I took her there again.

It is £8.50 for the day, that is entry & parking rolled into one.. Very reasonable for a day the same as a lot of Forestry sites as I see it..

But it used to be free, or if there was someone on the gate in high summer about 50p.

A lot of locals used the place and it was good for a couple of hours or the whole day depending on what you wanted.

Why are so many places only catering for people from outside the area?
If I was on holiday, sure I'd pay £8.50 no problem, I have done similar in the past in Yorkshire or Lake district.

But I'm not paying £8.50 to take the dog for a nice walk.

Everything is becoming so organised and commercialised its difficult to find somewhere natural.
