    The reason they are here is that we are near to their main habitat, Pine forest with Birch and Alder.
    Siskins, I had hoped to see here and have but I didn't expect the Redpolls and especially not every day as the are at present and I love them which is why I keep taking so many pics of them.:biggrin:

          Sorry but these photos are very blurred as it was almost dark when I took them.

          I couldn't recognise this bird so grabbed my camera quickly and tried to get a photo.

          It was hopping around quite quickly and pulling either insects or worms from the lawn.

          At first it looked a bit like an immature Jay but, as we only seem to get adults ones, I'm not sure. It had distinctive spots on its breast but a diagonal orangish stripe across it. Its beak had yellowy markings.

            Now I have fieldfare envy.

            Mind you, was pleased to a see a wren dotting around the garden yesterday. Grabbed my camera but it disappeared!

              had a big,fat Green woodpecker on the grass this morning. haven't seen him here so far this Winter.:dancy:
