We went out this morning to look at a new car for mrs al and I spotted a Dobbies nursery. Never been in one before so had a look. Had a cup of tea and the mrs was bored, I was happy as pig in....

Anyway, had to have a look round naturally, and bought a few bits:-

Could of spent hours there, but the wife isn't into gardens and plants, and it's a bit out of the way to visit again, although we'll ( I'll ) be going back next week when the mrs al picks up her car. I might even be tempted to pick up a poppy seed or sommat!

Was this the one in Speke? I found it particularly lacking in anything exotic.. but I went on it's first open day.. ps did you see the toilets?

Still looks like you got a few things there!

It was mate, yes. And yes, I did visit the bogs! Flowers for urinals and extremely clean.

Aye, exotics were lacking, but I was looking for something different and I bought a few nice things.

Couldn't you have propped her up in the cafe with a pot of tea, a cream cake and a good book for a couple of hours? My idea of bliss, except, of course, I'd be looking at the plants as well.

Strange you don`t get the tropical crner in your Dobbies , over mine is always overflow with tropical , cactus , bonsai and fresh garden idea.
I usually go there in January for the sale and end of May to buy the floating plants for the pond.

I bought a stone Pizza baking thing at my local Dobbies recently and took it back the next day having read the instructions saying that i had to put in the oven on full blast for an hour before first use. They're also good for Olive Oils, Balsamic Vinaigrettes, oh and the odd plant too. I was going to buy two pairs of Hunter wellies from there when we had the snow a few Saturdays ago, but i found them online £22 cheaper per pair with free delivery and they turned up on the Monday.
