I've just gone into my personal picture files stored on my computer to upload a couple to a post and I can't access them. This has happened since the site update. Any ideas please?

Did you lose computer access last week in the power failure Sheal? What I mean is, is it GC or your PC that's denying you access?:dunno:

I couldn't use my computer last week Jenny and I'd posted pictures after the power failure anyway. Regarding GC the only pictures I seem to be able to post at the moment are Youtube videos. I haven't got a clue what's going on. It's really annoying.

I've made no alterations to my computer either, so it's not that. I can get to my pictures via my computer but not via GC.

When you click on "up load a file", do you get the small box open with your computer on it?

    I won't use Chrome Sal73. :)

Pete, yes and I proceed through 'Libraries' and 'My Pictures' but the only file displayed is 'Ipod Photo Cache'. My pictures are not there though.

Sheal, you should be able to access all your files by using the buttons on the left hand side, then scrolling through them till you find the right one.

The left hand side of the box which opens up.
You get 5 options, then you get the drop down menu at the top.

Well I do. Not sure you do though.

Thanks Pete, I've tried that but get the same outcome. I think I'll have to get my son to do a remote takeover and see what he can come up with. I don't know enough to do a search to see what's amiss myself. :)

This should work as a temporary fix: 1) Using File Explorer, find and select/highlight the pic you want to upload 2) Hold down SHIFT, then right mouse click and select Copy as Path (this will copy the full path name to your Clipboard) 3) Click on the GC Upload File button 4) Paste the full path name into the 'Browse' window 5) Then click on Full Image to insert into post. I've just uploaded this pic using that method! (rather than use the Browse window to locate the pic) chicken mesh.jpg

Thanks Scrungee but that sounds a tad complicated. At the moment I'm moving individual pictures via shortcut to my desktop and uploading from there.

I haven't made contact with my son yet but my son-in-law has taken a look today and just can't find what the problem is.
