Not had a problem, but your problem seems to have coincided with the Cookie Control appearing (bottom left)

Gawd knows why Her Majesty's Government thought that making everyone confirm that they are happy for a site to store cookies on their machine was A Good Thing? :(

Ah, so that's what that green triangle is!!! :ideaIPB: I asked about it on another thread

Now I've got to work out whether I want the cookies from a site and how I go about telling the site whether I want them. If I'm able to!

Help!!! I just downloaded the PDF explaining it all. It's 30 pages long :thud:

Its all a big cock-up if you ask me.

Government wanted all sites to ASK if you wanted to store cookies.

Sites that needed to (whether just so that they can remember your preferences, or whether they were trying to steal your ID) already "dropped" cookies, and clearly everyone wasn't going to pay a huge amount to redesign, and exhaustively test, their sites ...

... so sites tend to do "We've put a cookie on your machine, hope that was OK" or even "If you want to know what our cookie policy is CLICK HERE"

Thus such sites have already put cookies on your machine, all they have done (differently / to comply with the law) is pop up an annoying box to tell you that they have done that (and the joke of it is that in order to remember that they have shown you that popup, and to NOT display it on every page / every time you come back they HAVE to drop a cookie to "remember" that you've seen / approved it :wallbanging: ... and if you clear cookies you'll get the popup(s) all over again ...)

But, in answer to your question, if you feel the need you can use your browser's security controls to disallow cookies on a site-by-site basis (or probably ALLOW them on a site-by-site basis).

Nefarious sites will now be harvesting your browsing habits by other means, so its all pointless and a waste of time. Who the hell is going to police whether all UK sites have Cookie Warning Messages or not? Its just CC as far as I am concerned (a.k.a. Complete Crapola)

I'm not getting thrown off the site but I had the opposite problem last night. I logged out and then couldn't get rid of GC, as fast as I hit the 'x' top right, it came back and back and back continuously. I thought for a moment I would just have to shut down to get rid of it. I'll see what happens later.
