Aww I wonder who she belongs to? Maybe she's managed to get out of her house due to the storm? It's a good job you found her as she could have still been outside in awful weather. Well done for looking after her. :)

Aww, Woo, what a lovely, kind hearted, thing to do: lucky puggly!

She looks healthy and well: her poor owners must be frantic about her. Penny looks very interested in her 'visitor' :doggieshmooze:

        Hopefully, Puggly is microchipped?

Quite likely ... but, I doubt they would think to look in an Owl's nest for her ;)

By law she would have to have some identification, even if she isn't microchipped. Maybe she has one of those little cylinder-things on her collar rather than an engraved tag? Regardless, I hope you find her owners! All vets will have a microchip reader so it might be worth popping her to the nearest :)

Do they charge for that? :dunno:

A "free" route might be to
                  a) contact the local Dog Warden
                  b) contact the local Police Station

Either (or both) may have had a report of a "lost" dog.

I would have thought Woo would have contacted all the appropriate authorities as soon as he had made the dog comfortable.
Then ring around local vets to see if they have a pug patient.

It's the law that you report a lost dog, I'm sure Woo has done that by now. If it was my dog I would be going out of my mind so I hope there is a happy reunion on the horizon.

I know ;) And I'm sure Puggly's family have done so :blue thumb:

I'm equally certain, Woo knows who to contact to report the finding of a stray to :dbgrtmb: Clearly (and rightly at that time of day) his priority was to care for the dogs initial needs.

My comment was in response to a suggestion of taking a stray to a vets to have any potential micro chip read. That would not be my first port of call and I would only consider it after exploring the other two options I mentioned.

Our vets do not charge to read a micro chip on a stray you take in.. They are only to happy to.. I always have phoned first & they just tell me when to pop up..

Hope you find her owners Woo, she looks well looked after..

They shouldn't charge for just scanning for a microchip. If there's no chip then I'd go down the dog warden/police route and maybe leaflet-drop neighbouring streets.

If the pup is chipped then that's the easiest way of locating the owner, as Petlog etc will have name, address, phone number etc of the owner. That would be my first port of call if I found a stray dog or cat, it's also got the least bureaucracy ;)

Good afternoon all my friends and thank you for all your lovely replies,I found Puggsie at about 5am ,I went to 3 local shops to see if hey had any information ,I also asked 3 paper delivery boys,at 9.20am I flew to the local vets to see if they had any knowledge of Puggsie ,on my return I saw with my big Owl like eyes 4 Pugs in a front garden,I knocked at the door and the lady said thank the Black Pug did belong to her,so I went home and reunited Pugsie with her owner.
The lady was not very emotional or grateful in fact quite annoyed that I had got her up so early, ,and when I asked her how Maddie escaped she replied Oh I let them out last thing at night and Maddie being black I must have left her out,and not seen her,so this poor Pug had been out for at least 10 hours in the rain and wind,Anyway alls well that ends well,
But its enough to make even an Owl ;)
