Anyone got a pitch fork they no longer need. Either with out without the long handle. As I'm struggling to turn my compost heaps with my garden fork on the allotment.

As per usual can exchange for a carving or a few pennies but will pay for the postage.

    Thanks everyone

I'm not sure you will find that a pitch fork:

      picks up enough "stuff" ??

I believe there is one in the back of my shed Jane, busy today, visitors, remind me in the week and I will have a delve and see what sort of condition it is in.

I use one, but if you can't get one and you have a old garden fork, cut off the two outside forks just an idea

A hay fork (4 prongs) is better for turning over (& heaping up) piles of stuff than a 2 pronged pitch fork . I use a shortened handle version of a hay fork for hand to hand combat with rats (and I keep my 2 pronged pitchfork in case I'm ever invited to join an angry mob).

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for using a four pronged fork for composting usually, but I have found the heaps I have made at the allotment are almost like hay and am finding it difficult to really lift up the weeds for turning and thought a pitch fork might do the trick. I never thought of looking for a hay fork though.
