As I know to my cost! American knitting patterns are a totally different language even though they speak English!

I can sew, knit, make bobbin lace and upholster and I can't for the life of me crochet! It's not for the want of trying either, a mental block no doubt.

Saw these the other day in someone's garden. The owner of the house makes these. Want them so bad in my own garden. Fairly tall, like 5 foot tall.
          So cute.

Anyone here know about sewing machine tensions? I can never get the tension right on my machine and always screw up most of the time.

            Also here's my current project.....

Did you get a manual with your sewing machine? That would be my first port of call. If not:

              I'm voting: bird house.
And the sewing thing is reference to .... a quilt to go inside the bird house to keep the babies cosy :)

Been working on this for the last few weeks. Was very tedious esp the pom pom edging. Its the first time i have done this classic crochet style.

Its going to be used for sunny days in the garden that are a bit too chilly to sit out in without a blanket

I used mariner space yarns to make it
